Watch This Style: The Fabulous Trailer For ‘Scatter My Ashes At Bergdorf’s'!

Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf's

Some of you may already know that I share my online writing time with a film news & reviews website, Movie Buzzers, which has also served readers here on Style Darling. One such story includes the new trailer for the fashion documentary, Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf’s. The Matthew Miele-directed documentary offers a behind-the-scenes look at the ins & outs of one of New York City’s most iconic centers for fashion, Bergdorf Goodman. The title comes from cartoonist Victoria Roberts, whose caption from a classic Bergdorf-obsessed cartoon in New Yorker put all other retailers under par. There are plenty of famous faces talking about, including designers like Chanel’s Karl Lagerfeld, wrap-dress genius Diane von Furstenberg, CFDA Lifetime Achievement Award-winner American Michael Kors, shoe-God Christian Louboutin, among countlessly accomplished and glamorous others. Also, personalities like Joan Rivers, designer / celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe, Sex & the City costume designer Patricia Fields, and actress Susan Lucci all share their experiences of high-profile exposure at the retailer’s central location on 5th Avenue. In addition to these famous faces, the documentary also includes a look at legendary personal shopper, Betty Halbreich, an 85-year-old employee of Bergdorf Goodman since 1976.

Due out in New York theaters on May 3rd, more premieres will follow. What do you think about the documentary? Is this a movie you’d wanna go see? Are you a Bergdorf Goodman shopper? Super Style Wishlist: Crazy For Cocktail Dresses From Bergdorf Goodman!

Of course I’m all about the bargains, but there’s always joy found in checking out the beauty behind the big brand name designers.  I haven’t looked through one of my favorite luxury retailers, Bergdorf Goodman, in quite some time, so I knew I had to take a quick visit.

Names like Emilio Pucci, Armani, & Oscar de la Renta are always on the tip of my tongue, especially when I’m looking at celebrities walking down the red carpet. However, when I was searching on Bergdorf Goodman, those legendary names in fashion came to mind & I had to seek some jaw-dropping designs.

I discovered the off-the-shoulder lace dress ($2695.00) by Emilio Pucci & was floored by the beautiful cut, flattering scalloped neckline, & sexy length.  This is a daring dress that I’d love to see a star like Blake Lively, Elizabeth Banks, or Minka Kelly in for a movie premiere.  The color is rich, perfect for standing out on a red carpet & making all the best dressed lists.

The exaggerated cowl-neck sheath dress ($1355.00) on this Armani stunner is a show-stopping look.  The deep jacquard print screams high fashion, perfect for pairing with pointed black pumps or strappy red platforms.  A look like this would dazzle on celebs like Charlize Theron, Rihanna, or perhaps shortened for Eva Longoria.

Because there’s always room for some sparkle, I picked Oscar de la Renta‘s sequined metallic dress ($4650.00). It’s perfect for any shape, especially with the flattering belt.  There’s no doubt that this hefty price tag is worth the perfection on the model, especially when this would look amazing on stars like Nicole Kidman, Diane Kruger, or Kirsten Dunst.

Super Style Wishlist: Jennifer Lopez Breaks Out In Neon Michael Kors & Casadei!

The latest season of American Idol is in full swing & Jennifer Lopez is stepping up her style every time she’s photographed.  At a recent press event in Brazil, the multi-talented celeb hit the red carpet in one of spring’s latest trends: neons. She stepped out in a stunning Michael Kors crepe crewneck dress ($1995.00), which is available at Bergdorf Goodman.  She paired the figure-flattering sheath with Casadei silk pumps ($677.00), from Far Fetch.

I’m featuring these in Super Style Wishlist b/c the combination is just too stylish to be true.  Of course the price tag is way out of reach for Style Darlings on a budget.  Jennifer has been a big fan of the designs by Michael Kors for years, & if you’d like to check out more creations worn by the Project Runway judge, check out links to Macy’s, Net-A-Porter, Nordstrom, & Neiman Marcus.  Happy Styling!
