8/21/2013 Darlings Of The Day: Emmy Rossum In Banana Republic & Olivia Palermo In ASOS!

I’m always scouring the web for look-alike pieces to celebrity outfits that budget-conscious shoppers can access. While I was catching up on the latest red carpet & street style images of my favorite A-listers, I found that Shameless actress Emmy Rossum & socialite / designer darling Olivia Palermo are acquiring their looks from stores that the (more stylish) rest of American can shop.

Banana Republic recently revealed their newest collection from British designer Issa, featuring this flirty blue ceramic printed wrap-tie dress ($130.00). This universally-flattering look was seen on Emmy, who played it up with tough accessories like lace-up booties & a black shoulder bag by Gerard Darel.

Of course the price tag is a little steep if you’re looking for a bargain, but this style is timeless & perfect for any time of year. At the end of the summer, it’s a great transitional piece for fall with tights, knee boots, & a denim jacket. For the office, add a metallic belt & blazer with some pointy toe pumps.

While in New York City, Olivia stepped out in style in the skater dress in paisley print with lace up sleeve ($67.50) from ASOS, which she styled with a studded belt, a gold chain-link cuff, snakeskin flats, sunglasses by Westward Leaning.

The free-spirited frock is another versatile must-have that has multiple styling possibilities. Take a cue from Olivia’s choices with a textured belt, statement jewelry piece, & contrasting printed shoes.

Runway Rundown: Alice + Olivia’s Resort 2014 Collection!

There are just so many resort collections to cover & only one Style Darling to do the job, however one of my personal favorites of the season is the latest Alice + Olivia Resort 2014 Collection, which features plenty of youthful, yet sophisticated separates & dresses that are red carpet-ready & perfect for upcoming magazine editorials. The line includes feminine details like lace, bows, A-line skirts, floral prints, & fun colorblocking schemes which are sure to attract the likes of Taylor Swift, Diane Kruger, Emmy Rossum, Kerry Washington, & Zoe Saldana.

I love these designs by Stacey Bendet, which seem to be inspired by the fun & flirty nature behind the Betsey Johnson legacy, with a mix of preppy Michael Kors in there too. I’ve been watching a lot of Johnson’s reality show XOX Betsey Johnson on the Style Network, finding her efforts to rebuild her brand pretty inspiring myself. Let’s hope that color is here to stay, even as we’re still delving into summer with fall trends quickly on their way.

Top 10 Celeb Sightings: More Menswear, Strategic Panels, & Black-White Looks, Featuring Cameron Diaz, Diane Kruger, & More!

Now that the Cannes Film Festival has ended, we can all (sort of) relax for one fashionable minute & get back to reality with stream-lined red carpet looks. For this latest Top 10 Celeb Sightings gallery, I’ve been noticing trends that don’t seem to go away, including menswear, as seen on Jennifer Lopez in a Bec & Bridge shirt with J Brand jeans & statement hot pink peep toe Christian Louboutin booties while sightseeing in London. Actress Brit Marling  downplays her natural beauty with black & white separates. Also, Diane Kruger takes a stroll in Malibu with a flirty take on the trend with a button-up mini skirt & printed top, all made feminine by a 3.1 Phillip Lim bag.

Dresses with paneling are popular too, showing off a curvy shape, or revealing some skin in an elegant way like Emmy Rossum‘s Bibhu Mohapatra dress, Rose Byrne‘s blush frock by Emilio Pucci at the premiere for The Internship, & Christina Ricci in a Thakoon LBD while showing support for the Fresh Air Fund. Lastly, my favorite looks include the ones with a pop of personality, like Kerry Washington‘s Calvin Klein Collection black shift dress with sexy leopard print pointy toe pumps at the Variety Emmy Studio, Cameron Diaz‘s all-white ensemble by Roland Mouret with ankle strap sandals at a Tag Heuer bash in Monaco, the ageless Salma Hayek-Pinault in a leather design by Bottega Veneta while dining in Venice, & finally, Olivia Palermo‘s favorite colorblocked picks from the latest collections found on Piperlime.

Which celeb has the best style? Which trend do you prefer? Menswear? Sheer panels? Or black & white looks? Red Carpet Review: The Best Looks From The 2013 Billboard Music Awards, Including Emmy Rossum, Jennifer Lopez, Taylor Swift, & More!

Last night’s Billboard Music Awards were a big draw for viewers, attracting big names from the worlds of rap, rock, pop, & country. However, it’s the BLUE carpet that has fashion critics & bloggers buzzing today. Designer Zuhair Murad was definitely in-demand, dressing the likes of Jennifer Lopez in a deep-v gold gown, Emmy Rossum in a black velvet & sheer polka-dotted dramatic look, & Taylor Swift who showed off her gams in a blue sparkling mini dress. Also, celebrities worth noting were Hayden Panettiere who looked regal in a black Halston Heritage gown, Chloe Moretz in a printed Fendi frock, & Selena Gomez in a stunning white & neon-accented plunging gown by Atelier Versace. Additionally, some nay-sayers are also giving Nicki Minaj some heat over her red bustier gown, which channeled Rihanna‘s Azzedine Alaia dress from this year’s Grammy’s, but I think that this is almost the best that the rapper has ever looked & she should keep taking tips from Rihanna.

If I was an officer of the Fashion Police, I would certainly fine whoever it was that let the lovely star of the upcoming ABC series Mistresses, Alyssa Milano, out in that awkward palazzo pant ensemble by Emilio Pucci, as well as Jenny McCarthy‘s stylist for the 90s-homage tank & maxi skirt look. Sure, she’s in her 40s, has a great body, & her makeup looks gorgeous, but there are definitely better options out there for the VH1 talk show host.

Who wore your favorite look? Which artist gave the best performance at the show? Did you like the blue carpet looks? Red Carpet Review: Emmy Rossum’s Glamorous 2013… So Far!

We’re already through the first fiscal quarter of 2013 & it’s clear that one of the most stylish beauties on the red carpet has been actress / singer Emmy Rossum. Her flirty, youthful, & effortless looks have made her one of the most photographed women of the year. She’s a designer’s darling in dresses by Naeem Khan, Tory Burch, Temperley London, Oscar de la Renta, DiorCatherine Deane, Alice + Olivia by Stacey Bendet, & countless others. Emmy has been busy promoting her recent film, Beautiful Creatures, & the newest season of Shameless, but she’s recently released an album, Sentimental Journey, & posed for the cover of Self magazine.

I’ve created 24-image gallery, which shares Emmy’s go-to designer, Andrew Gn, & favorite silhouettes with cinched waists, peep toe pumps, & halter cuts. What do you think of Emmy’s red carpet style? Which look is your favorite?
