For those of you who love the black & white noir angle of films like Sin City or Sucker Punch, then you’ll love the director’s cut for Gucci‘s latest men’s & women’s fragrance, Guilty Black. The sexy & dramatic commercial stars previous Gucci models, The Ides of March actress Evan Rachel Wood & the big screen’s Captain America, Chris Evans. Prices for the fragrance range between $80 – $90, with notes of pink pepper, coriander, patchouli, & orange flower.
Amber Heard has been making headlines, especially after her role in last year’s The Rum Diary, opposite Johnny Depp, who is said to be Amber’s beau. The actress, whose credits include Zombieland & Pineapple Express, is returning as a model for Guess, for their latest fragrance ads for Guess Girl. In a recent article on FashionEtc, the scent is described as “With top notes of raspberry nectar, melon and bergamot mist, and a drydown of Australian sandalwood and Madagascar vanilla, the fruity floral scent is a distinct departure from the brand’s most recent perfume, Seductive, aimed toward women in their later 20′s.“
Clad in a pink sequin mini under a Marilyn Monroe-inspired button down shirt that’s tied at the waist, the ad seems to focus on the voluptuous beauties of Old Hollywood & Amber is a perfect match, looking to be the next Sharon Stone with every red carpet appearance. Guess Girl won’t be available as a stocking stuffer since it will make its debut in February, but you can count on the three sizes to be budget-friendly, going for 1 oz. for $40, 1.7 oz. for $52, & 3.4 oz. for $62, as well as a 6.7-oz. body cream for $28 at Guess.com.
It was only Monday when the full-length video commercial for Chanel No. 5 was revealed, starring a black & white, monotoned, monologue-toting Brad Pitt. Critics were underwhelmed by the recitation since he naturally doesn’t seem like a good fit for the brand, which had been previously endorsed by the elegant likes of Nicole Kidman & Keira Knightley. However, a sequel video has been released, more in a dazzling commercial format, revealing a more suitable & feminine side to the fragrance’s portrayal. Perhaps just sticking to Brad’s voice-over will make for a more effective campaign? What do you think of this second video? Are you a fan of the timeless perfume? Happy Styling!

While sifting through the knee-high pile of the September issues of my favorite magazines, I noticed that several (Self, Cosmopolitan, & Allure) have the ads for Lancome‘s latest fragrance La Vie Est Belle featuring Julia Roberts‘ infamous smile on their back covers. The Oscar winner’s Mirror Mirror director, Tarsem Singh has, from behind the camera, brought out the best in Julia in a short film to go along with the stunning ad campaign. Luckily, I was able to find the video on YouTube, along with a making-of video, which includes a brunette-tressed Julia in an elegant white gown breaking free from conventions & embracing a beautiful life, all with the help of the perfume. Having graduated from the previously popular Tresor fragrance, La Vie Est Belle is set to hit stores in mid-August.
Of course print ads of celebs starring in campaigns for fragrances are always juicy to look at, especially when we’re talking about Savages star Blake Lively, however almost one month ago, I informed readers of Blake’s collaboration modeling for Gucci Premiere. While I was browsing through the web just recently, I found a short sneak peek at the Gossip Girl actress in motion in a clip from the film that supports the scent. Under the direction of Nicolas WindingRefn, this golden girl is clad in sequins overlooking the Los Angeles skyline, as well as in a flowing navy gown in the desert. Take a look at the commercial below & share with readers what you think about this campaign.
Beyonce isn’t just causing a stir on the red carpets these days since the dynamic diva has just released her latest fragrance, Midnight Heat ($59.00), as well as its corresponding ad sure to make the pages of the upcoming September issues of all our favorite magazines. The singer / actress / dancer is showing off her curvy post-baby body in a feminine, one-shoulder purple mini dress. If you’re interested in adding this sixth scent, said to contain notes of starfruit, Armenian plum, & dragonfruit in the tradition of the Heat collection, it can be found @Macy’s. Happy Styling!
Blake Lively is everywhere! With the premiere of Savages, the Oliver Stone-directed action drama, as well as her latest campaign for the fragrance, Gucci Premiere. The bombshell shows off her Old Hollywood glamour with Veronica Lake-like waves, a long-sleeved embellished evening gown, & open back. The former Chanel-spokesmodel is high in-demand, especially since it’s been announced that this coming fall will see the farewell season of Gossip Girl.
In addition, a short film about the fragrance is set to premiere at the Venice Film Festival on September 1st, directed by Nicolas Winding Refn, starring Blake. Do you think the California-born actress is overexposed or do you want to see more of her? Happy Styling!
