8/21/2013 Darlings Of The Day: Emmy Rossum In Banana Republic & Olivia Palermo In ASOS!

I’m always scouring the web for look-alike pieces to celebrity outfits that budget-conscious shoppers can access. While I was catching up on the latest red carpet & street style images of my favorite A-listers, I found that Shameless actress Emmy Rossum & socialite / designer darling Olivia Palermo are acquiring their looks from stores that the (more stylish) rest of American can shop.

Banana Republic recently revealed their newest collection from British designer Issa, featuring this flirty blue ceramic printed wrap-tie dress ($130.00). This universally-flattering look was seen on Emmy, who played it up with tough accessories like lace-up booties & a black shoulder bag by Gerard Darel.

Of course the price tag is a little steep if you’re looking for a bargain, but this style is timeless & perfect for any time of year. At the end of the summer, it’s a great transitional piece for fall with tights, knee boots, & a denim jacket. For the office, add a metallic belt & blazer with some pointy toe pumps.

While in New York City, Olivia stepped out in style in the skater dress in paisley print with lace up sleeve ($67.50) from ASOS, which she styled with a studded belt, a gold chain-link cuff, snakeskin flats, sunglasses by Westward Leaning.

The free-spirited frock is another versatile must-have that has multiple styling possibilities. Take a cue from Olivia’s choices with a textured belt, statement jewelry piece, & contrasting printed shoes.

I’m all packed & ready to hit the road tomorrow for a highly anticipated break from reality while attending a very intense, yet chic Writer’s Conference out in Southampton for the next eleven days… which means that posts may be sparse for the rest of the month. However, I wanted to leave readers with plenty of inspiration, including some of my favorite celebrity looks who are toting head-to-toe white, black & white ensembles, & fall-ready designer booties that I can’t wait to put on my own feet! My top picks include Salma Hayek Pinault in a printed Christopher Kane dress with seriously stylish Giuseppe Zanotti booties. Also, there’s much to talk about with the usually belly-baring Rihanna who couldn’t look cooler or more casual, as well as supermodel Karolina Kurkova in elegant menswear-inspired separates & Kristen Wiig in a Viktor & Rolf shift dress at an NYC screening for her new film, Girl Most Likely.

My gallery also includes Gwen Stefani working the printed pant trend, young actress Holland Roden in a pretty Naeem Khan frock, Kelly Rowland testing gravity in a flouncy dress & towering booties, tennis star Maria Sharapova in a Valentino shift dress, socialite Olivia Palermo continuing her stylish streak, & Vanessa Hudgens in a cropped sweater by Catherine Malandrino.

Who wore your favorite looks? Do you wear all-white? Are you breaking out your ankle booties just yet? 6/29/2013 Darling Of The Day: Olivia Palermo Stylishly Steps Out In New York City!

As far as street style is concerned, Olivia Palermo is stepping up her game & quickly joining the ranks of veterans like Nicole Richie, Sarah Jessica Parker, Miranda Kerr, & Rihanna when it comes to personal style. Of course, the American socialite always sits front row during Fashion Week, & also has all the best designers begging the former reality to don their duds, so she knows a thing or two about fashion. Here, in New York City, Olivia recently showed off her gams in shorts & a crisp, white shirt. She’s accessorized her look simply with metallic, neutral, & embossed pieces that can be mixed & matched with plenty of other wardrobe staples. I especially love her Olivia + Joy purse since animal-inspired textures always make an outfit look more luxurious.

To recreate Olivia’s street style, I’ve found pieces that not only follow the latest trends in summer fashion, but also come in under $100 for the total look! First, the belted safari shirt ($17.18) in optic white from New York & Company has more than just the tailored feel of a men’s shirt since it belts to the side, but can also be tucked in to show off your shape. Also, the cuffed twill shorts ($22.00) in surplus khaki from Old Navy are both functional when the temperature heats up & can make any frilly blouse or studded tank look street-savvy. A basic neutral shoe pulls the look together, like Dress Barn‘s chic crisscross wedge sandals ($40.00), which can work for any outfit, a maxi dress, or shorts romper.

Additional accessories that make this look affordable & successful are the studded mirror cuff ($4.80) from Forever 21, H&M‘s clutch ($12.95), & the one-inch skinny belt ($2.99) from Private Island Party. Any of these can be coordinated with a variety of basics like a shirtdress with ballet flats, an LBD with chandelier earrings, & a printed jumpsuit with a floppy hat.

What do you think of Olivia’s street style? Do you like this look? Which accessories are your favorite? To follow more on Olivia, I recommend her official blog, Olivia Palermo, two photo-frenzied blogs The Olivia Palermo Lookbook & Olivia Palermo Fashion Style, & InStyle‘s red carpet gallery!

Summer style seems to be in full throttle & the latest red carpet looks are nothing short of fabulous. Some of my favorite looks include Jennifer Lopez‘s sequin Tom Ford gown that she wore while attending the amfAR Inspiration Gala, Amy Adams in a lace Dolce & Gabbana dress with sorbet pointy toe shoes, & Uma Thurman‘s striking magenta Versace corseted gown with Chopard jewelry.

Also, this post’s gallery includes cute frocks like Diane Kruger‘s blush Jason Wu dress with ankle strap sandals, Hailee Steinfeld in a cobalt Sportmax dress with Jimmy Choo shoes, & Kerry Washington‘s colorblocked embellished dress. Lastly, Ashley Madekwe‘s Roksanda Ilincic jumpsuit is on-trend with head-to-toe black, as well as Kirsten Dunst in a Proenza Schouler shorts outfit with pointy toe pumps. Other separates making a splash on the red carpet include Olivia Palermo in a Rebecca Minkoff blazer with a printed skirt & See by Chloe bag, & Rooney Mara‘s flirty ruffled navy J.W. Top 10 Celeb Sightings: More Menswear, Strategic Panels, & Black-White Looks, Featuring Cameron Diaz, Diane Kruger, & More!

Now that the Cannes Film Festival has ended, we can all (sort of) relax for one fashionable minute & get back to reality with stream-lined red carpet looks. For this latest Top 10 Celeb Sightings gallery, I’ve been noticing trends that don’t seem to go away, including menswear, as seen on Jennifer Lopez in a Bec & Bridge shirt with J Brand jeans & statement hot pink peep toe Christian Louboutin booties while sightseeing in London. Actress Brit Marling  downplays her natural beauty with black & white separates. Also, Diane Kruger takes a stroll in Malibu with a flirty take on the trend with a button-up mini skirt & printed top, all made feminine by a 3.1 Phillip Lim bag.

Dresses with paneling are popular too, showing off a curvy shape, or revealing some skin in an elegant way like Emmy Rossum‘s Bibhu Mohapatra dress, Rose Byrne‘s blush frock by Emilio Pucci at the premiere for The Internship, & Christina Ricci in a Thakoon LBD while showing support for the Fresh Air Fund. Lastly, my favorite looks include the ones with a pop of personality, like Kerry Washington‘s Calvin Klein Collection black shift dress with sexy leopard print pointy toe pumps at the Variety Emmy Studio, Cameron Diaz‘s all-white ensemble by Roland Mouret with ankle strap sandals at a Tag Heuer bash in Monaco, the ageless Salma Hayek-Pinault in a leather design by Bottega Veneta while dining in Venice, & finally, Olivia Palermo‘s favorite colorblocked picks from the latest collections found on Piperlime.
