I am writing to share what’s been going on in my life this winter (despite the summer-ish looking picture to the right!), which is why I’ve been absent from the blogosphere. I am midway through my studies in an intense academic program, where I’ll be earning my Master’s Degree in 2-3 more semesters in Writing & Literature. My two loves in life are writing & fashion, while I get to live the fashion part everyday by exploring my own wardrobe & finding stylish bargains on the clearance racks, writing has become priority number one. I always sought to make WordPress my central blog location, but given the constraints of other responsibilities (two jobs & school), I’ve shared my favorite fashion stories & moments through other social media outlets that are more Smart phone friendly since I’m often on the go. I’d like to direct all of you to follow my Twitter (@MissAlissaL) Instagram (MissAlissaL), Pinterest, & Facebook in the mean time, until I am better able to manage my time on WordPress for those who are generous enough to share their interest in fashion & style with me. Not to mention that I’m currently without the means to adequately use my beginner level graphic design skills in order to better serve the image-heavy posts that I usually present.
Style Darling started out as a hobby blog since I loved sharing my fashion interest with friends, & then it turned into a passion project which blends my two loves. I am proud to say that this venture reaches more & more people on a regular basis, 1200+ followers. However, as I embark on this very important academic journey (which I hope will result in a memoir), supporting myself with two time-consuming jobs, & making the best of my situation both personally & professionally, I ask for your continued support. Style Darling is no longer dormant.
Additionally, I would like to take this opportunity to reach out to my fellow bloggers & readers that if you know anyone interested, or you yourself are a style blogger, I am currently accepting inquiries regarding guest posts, relating to fashion news or shopping tips in any capacity. Please contact me at StyleDarlingEmail@gmail.com for more information & we can bounce some ideas around to spread the word of style even further! Happy Styling my loves!
Wrap the belt over a sweater dress with knee boots & hoop earrings. Or try the floral scarf with a pullover tee & skinny jeans with ballet flats. I love the bright pink jeans for a tunic sweater & pointy toe pumps. Lastly, the uber-elegant blouse would upgrade any work look with a pencil skirt, patterned tights, & a cardigan.
As we begin our very stylish 2013 (I know I’ve been lacquered up with sparkling nails, new eyeshadow shades, & my favorite heels), it’s time to pay attention to what’s going on around us in the worlds of fashion, entertainment, & pop culture. I’m happy to share the stories that have raised an eye brow & keep me clicking away to stay in the know. What stories are you following this week? Which movies have you seen or sales have you shopped? Happy Styling!
Trendsetter & actress Shenae Grimes, of 90210 fame, has been slowly making her way up the style ranks, & can now add fashion blogger to her resume. After reading a very interesting interview with the Canadian-native on StyleCaster, I learned that Shenae cites Sienna Miller & Steven Tyler as style icons, & the fact that she’s got a voice for fashion which she is putting to good use through her official website, Shenae Grimes. If you’re looking to follow the next big thing, then add this site to your favorites to check out all the latest trends that she’s raving about, including strong shoulders, tonal looks, goth-inspired nails, & leather reinvented.
To be honest, I wasn’t always a big fan of Shenae’s red carpet style, especially considering that she was climbing the slippery slope between a bad version of the Olsen twins boho-chic & pre-engaged Miley Cyrus grunge. After watching Shenae on an episode of E!‘s Fashion Police earlier this spring, she’s proven that she’s knowledgable about designers, what works for her age, & how to dress like a lady. Shame on me for turning my head to this Style Darling who clearly knows her stuff.
I just bought this summer-friendly white a-line skirt with side button @Target ($11.48 on clearance- $22.99 online). I’m so excited about it & trying to get inspired on how I can mix it up with other fun pieces. It really pays off to shop those sale racks! Not to mention that I scored an extra 20% off by checking out Target’s coupons from their website. I printed it out & got an even better deal than I expected. Happy Styling!
