Runway Rundown: Alexandre Vauthier’s Spring 2015 Couture’s Collection!

Alexandre Vauthier Spring 2015 Couture Collection.

French designer Alexandre Vauthier is one of the newest names to hit the Spring 2015 Couture runways in Paris. He has stayed true to his bombshell-meets-Bond girl aesthetic, continuing to attract A-listers like Rihanna, Heidi Klum, Kim Kardashian, & Beyoncé. His latest collection is a sexy & strong mix of menswear inspiration, provocative cut-outs, high shine & luxe materials, as well as a dramatic cape. This line comes just in time for this weekend’s Grammy Awards, which are the perfect red carpet destination for Vauthier’s designs.

What do you think of Vauthier’s use of fabric? Do you like the designer’s debut couture collection? Basics for a Bargain: The Fringe Trend, Inspired by Scarlett Johansson, Heidi Klum, Jamie Chung & More (Dedicated to Marlene)!

When it comes to seeking out some style inspiration, turning to my friends is always the best resource, which is how I came to find (from one Marlene) that there was a big trend that’s been building in the fashion world. Fringe is back. Have no fear, when it comes to fringe, it’s all about moderation. I’m not talking about a full-on Western look, or anything crazy from the 70s, but a nod to another time or fantasy world isn’t so bad to include in your day-to-day wardrobe.

Fringe was spotted on the Spring Summer 2015 runways all over the world, especially from designers like Etro, Givenchy, Fendi, Proenza Schouler, Marco de Vincenzo, & Elie Tahari.

Over the years, celebrities have also been sneaking this trend on the red carpet, wearing fringe on dresses, tops, capes, & skirts. When done right, fringe can do no wrong. For example, fringe works on actress Scarlett Johansson (in Preen), Shameless star Emmy Rossum (in Stella McCartney), Bond girl Naomie Harris (in Naeem Khan), & model Suki Waterhouse at a Topshop event.

Also, during this past season of Project Runway, winner Sean Kelly designed this flirty cobalt & black fringe gown for the show’s host Heidi Klum to wear at last year’s Creative Arts Emmy Awards. Also, rocking the fringe trend are Divergent star Shailene Woodley (in Emilio Pucci), dancer-turned-singer-turned-actress Julianne Hough (in Sass & Bide), & fashion blogger Jamie Chung (in BCBG Max Azria).

To integrate fringe into your wardrobe, here are some affordable & easy-to-wear fringe toppers & fringe bottoms that are sure to dress up your casual separates & create new opportunities to get the most out of your closet.

Red Carpet Review: The 2015 #GoldenGlobes Awards, Featuring Jennifer Lopez, Emma Stone, Amy Adams, & More!

Anna Kendrick, Emma Stone, Naomi Watts, Lupita Nyong'o, Jennifer Lopez, Dakota Johnston, Kate Mara, Diane Kruger, & Kate Hudson.

The 2015 Golden Globes is upon us & already the show is an extravaganza in entertainment & movie madness. However, it’s the red carpet that has the fashion world buzzing, including some major trends in pops of color like red, cobalt, & yellow, as well as luxe metallics, plenty of cleavage from A-listers, pretty pastels, & dramatic ballgowns. Some of my favorite celebrities that hit the red carpet are Anna Kendrick (in Monique Lhuillier), Emma Stone (in Lanvin), Naomi Watts (in Gucci), Lupita Nyong’o (in Giambattista Valli), Jennifer Lopez (in Zuhair Murad), Dakota Johnston (in Chanel), Kate Mara (in Miu Miu), Diane Kruger (in Emilia Wickstead), & Kate Hudson (in Versace).

Other noteables are the always glamorous Reese Witherspoon (in Calvin Klein Collection), Jessica Chastain (in Atelier Versace), Kate Beckinsale (in Elie Saab), Allison Williams (in Armani Prive), Zosia Mamet (in Andrew Gn), Gina Rodriguez (in Badgley Mischka), & Amy Adams (in Versace). Who was your favorite on the red carpet? Which looks are you talking about the most?

Accessories Access: Scoop Up These Deals On Scarves From Forever 21 (Under $10)!

If there’s anything that I’ve learned over the years about my personal style, it’s that there’s no such thing as too many scarves! I love mixing up different scarves for my outerwear look, as well as when my outfit needs a little something extra. Also, working a retail job this holiday season has shown me that shoppers love scarves & all of their styling possibilities. Not only am I all about the scarf, but I’m pro-experimentation when it comes to textures & colors. Celebrities even love wearing scarves at any time of the year, including Heidi Klum topped her olive blazer with a multicolor leopard print scarf, Miranda Kerr played with prints in a zebra scarf & polka dot pumps, & Nicole Richie added a delicate scarf to her furry coat & skinny jeans look.

Heidi Klum, Miranda Kerr, Nicole Richie, Jamie King, Pippa Middleton, & Twilda Swinton.

Also, Jamie King adds a bold cherry scarf to her gray dress, Pippa Middleton knotted a fur scarf over her quilted jacket & pencil skirt, & Tilda Swinton mixed prints with a frayed scarf & star-spangled sweater.

Typically, I’m drawn to black & white scarves, but a pop of color or playful print can really add that wow factor an outfit of basics needs. Forever 21 might be a juniors’ store, but its affordable accessories make it my first stop when it comes to building a scarf collection, especially for under $10.00 each.
